Impressive wins by Gee String, Swish Az and a Turn Me Loose three-year-old were among the highlights at today’s Hastings jumpouts.

There were 10 heats run up against the running rail on the course proper, which provided good footing.

Gee String proved too quick for his four rivals in a 1000m heat, scoring by 3 lengths in a time of 1:01.5. The Niagara gelding, a member of Shane Brown’s team at Woodville, has recorded a win and two seconds from his last three starts.

Swish Az won one of the 750m heats by half a length, clocking a quick 43.4s. The Swiss Ace mare is in the early stages of a fresh campaign, with her last start being over 1340m at Wanganui back in February.

Trainer Guy Lowry has always had a high opinion of a Turn Me Loose three-year-old he has in his stable and the big gelding looked good when winning a 1000m heat by half a length. He also finished a good second in a 1000m heat at the last lot of Hastings jumpouts, on September 20.
