Shezzacatch strode out strongly in the final 100 metres when scoring an impressive win in a 1000m jumpout at Hastings today.

There were seven heats run up against the inside rail on the course proper, which provided good footing.

The Lowry/Cullen-trained Shezzacatch contested the last of three 1000m heats and clocked the fastest time of 58.8s when beating stablemate Penny Royal by a length, with Shenanigans a long neck back in third.

Shezzacatch missed a start at last Saturday’s abandoned Wellington meeting and is now likely to contest a $30,000 Rating 74 race over 1200m at Awapuni on December 18.

Gracie Lee, a member of Shane Brown’s Woodville stable, was another good winner at the jumpouts, scoring by three lengths in a 750m heat and clocking 46.2s. She unplaced in two starts last year but has been placed in several trials.
