Hastings Jumpouts
Results from Hastings Jumpouts held on Thursday 4 August
John Jenkins | August 04, 2022

Impressive wins by the well performed trio of Best Seller, Vishakha and Bold Iris were among the highlights in a busy session of jumpouts at the Hastings track today.

There were 17 heats run wide out on the course proper, where the footing was rated a heavy-9.

Best Seller was not pressured to win her 1000m heat by a long neck in a time of 1:05.37. The Wrote filly was placed second in the Group 2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes (1200m) last season and is likely to resume in the Group 3 HB/PB Thoroughbred Breeders Gold Trail Stakes (1200m) at Hastings on September 10.

Vishakha contested one of the seven 750m heats and finished strongly to win by two lengths in a time of 47.91s. The daughter of Power has been freshened since recording the second of her two wins over 1200m at Hawera in March and looks to be coming up well again.

The John Bary-trained Bold Iris looked to have plenty in reserve when winning her 1000m heat by a head over stablemate Lilly Laguna and they were well clear of the other two runners in the heat.

Bold Iris is the winner of three races and has also been freshened since her last start win over 1400m on the Hastings track in April.

Other good winners of their heats were New Orleans Jazz, Celtic Jazz and an unraced Wrote three-year-old colt.
