Hastings Jumpouts Results

Impressive wins by Aviator and New Orleans Jazz were the highlights at today’s Hastings jumpouts.

There were six 750m heats held on the course proper, where the ground was extremely heavy.

Aviator clocked the fastest time of the six heats when he produced a powerful finish down the outside of the track to beat the talented filly Best Seller by 1-1/4 lengths in 51.35s.

Aviator is a big Turn Me Loose three-year-old recorded a second and a fourth from three starts earlier this season before going out for a lengthy spell. He looks to have come back in great order.

New Orleans Jazz won his heat by 4-1/2 lengths and clocked 51.40s. The Niagara two-year-old hasn’t raced since finishing sixth in the Group 1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at Awapuni in April and looks a mucht stronger horse now.

Other heat winners were the John Bary-trained trio of Baileys On Rocks, Sequoia Star and Blissful Belle and the Guy Lowry and Grant Cullen trained Go Hugo.
