Hastings Trackwork 6 Dec 2017

A fast 800-metre gallop by My Big Sista and Junior and a sound workout by Xpression were the highlights at this morning’s Hastings track session.

Fast work was again confined to the plough, which provided good footing.

My Big Sista and Junior worked in from the 1000-metre peg and were timed to run the last 800 in a quick 49.9, the last 600 in 36.8.

My Big Sista is a Nadeem three-year-old filly in the Patrick Campbell stable while Junior is a three-year-old gelding by Nom de Jeu trained by Sue Thompson and Mick Brown. Both horses have shown up well in jumpouts held on the Hastings track.

Xpression ended her work with an easy 600 metres in 40.1 and looked to be travelling well at the finish. She produced a good debut performance for third in the two-year-old race at Otaki last Friday.

Pakapunch sprinted 600 metres in 38.8 while stablemate Knife ran over the same ground in 38.

Makeitrain was let off with an easy 800 metres in 56.3, the last 600 in 41.4. She is a filly by Niagara in the Lowry/Cullen stable who turned in an encouraging debut run for fifth at Rotorua on November 29.

Dare To Rock clocked 39.3 and 42.2 for two 600-metre runs while a Niagara three-year-old gelding in the Lowry/Cullen stable underwent similar work and clocked 40.8 and 43.1.

An Ocean Park-Alpine Beauty three-year-old filly in the Lowry/Cullen stable worked in from the 1000-metre peg in 1:17.4, the last 600 in 46.4 while Malcan underwent similar work and clocked 1:18.1 for 1000 metres, the last 600 in 46.2.
