Sol De Otono and a Per Incanto-Deb three-year-old gelding, both prepared by the new training partnership of Guy Lowry and Leah Zydenbos, were two of the most impressive winners at today’s Hastings jumpouts.

There were eight heats held on the course proper, where the running rail was out five metres and the surface provided good footing.

Sol De Otono clocked the fastest time out of the three 1000m heats when recording 60.4s. She settled back last of the four runners until the home turn and was then angled to the outside by rider Lily Sutherland and finished strongly to win by a short neck from the race winner Bedtime Story, with Lohnagan a close up third.

Sol De Otono is a promising three-year-old filly by The Autumn Sun out of multiple stakes placed mare Savvy Dreams and has now won two jumpouts in the past month. She is likely to make her race debut at the Hawke’s Bay meeting on December 31.

The Per Incanto-Deb three-year-old also contested a 1000m heat and produced an eye-catching sprint in the last 200 metres to race clear of his four rivals and score by three lengths in a time of 1:01.2. He stretched out strongly late and is out of a winning Darci Brahma mare.

The Lowry/Zydenbos-trained mare Herself won a 1200m heat in preparation for a 2100m race at Otaki next Thursday while The Stoney One was successful in the other 1000m heat and will head to Trentham on December 23 for a Rating 75 race over 1100m.
