Magic Incanto, preparing for a return to racing at Trentham on Saturday week, strode out nicely in a solo gallop in a quiet session at the Hastings track this morning.
There was very little in the way of fast work and not any horses were worked, with Waipukurau jumpouts scheduled for Thursday.
Magic Incanto had trainer Fred Pratt aboard when running 600m in 39.1. The Per Incanto mare, who is the winner of four races, has not raced since January but is expected to resume in a Rating 74 race over 1200m at Trentham.
My Tommy worked over a round on the plough and was timed from the 1200m peg in 1:26.1, the last 600 in 42.1. He will line up next in a maiden hurdle race at Hastings on Wednesday of next week.
An Atlante three-year-old gelding in Steven Carey’s stable sprinted 600m in 36s while Overstayer was restricted to two rounds of pacework.
Overstayer will be nominated for the Rating 74 race over 2100m at Te Rapa on Saturday.
