Last start winner Written Up showed he has trained on the right way with a good solo workout at this morning’s Hastings track session.

There was little in the way of fast work as most Hastings trainers had horses entered for the Waipukurau jumpouts later in the day.

Written Up had trainer Dean Howard aboard when working in from the 1000m peg on the plough in 1:05.4. He ran the first 400m in an easy 28.5s before speeding up over the last 600 in 36.9s.

The Wrote colt won a maiden race over 1000m on the Awapuni synthetic track on May 7 and will now head to Te Rapa this Saturday for a $30,000 three-year-old race over 1100m.

His stablemate Matt Cain was let off with an easier workout this morning when sent over 1200m, running the last 1000m in 1:13.5 and final 600 in 42.4.

The Danroad gelding did well to finish as close as fourth over 2140m on the Awapuni synthetic track after being last on the home turn. He will start in a $30,000 Rating 65 race over 2100m at Awapuni this Saturday with Mareana Hudson booked to ride him.

A Charm Spirit-Diplomacy three-year-old gelding in the Guy Lowry stable worked in at three-quarter pace from the 1000m peg, clocking 44.9s for the last 600. He is a half-brother to the stakes winning mare Mohaka.

A Time Test three-year-old gelding was another member of the Lowry stable let off with easy workouts, running home the last 600m of his work in 45s.
