Two two-year-olds by Time Test in the Guy Lowry stable took the time honours at this morning’s Hastings track session.
Fast work as confined to the plough, which provided good footing and was conducive to good times.
A Time Test-Edwina two-year-old gelding and a Time Test-Chic two-year-old filly worked together over 800m in 50, running the fist 200m in 13.6 before coming home the last 600 in 36.5. Both were working well at the finish and are among a number of horses Lowry intends lining up at the Hastings jumpouts this Friday.
Zappa Jak, who will return to the Awapuni synthetic track on Thursday of next week, worked early in the session and was timed to run an easy 1000m in 1:12.1, the last 600 in 38.9. He has recorded two close seconds from his last two starts on the Awapuni synthetic track and will line up in another Rating 65 race over 2050m there next week.
Khan’s Clown, another likely to start next on the Awapuni synthetic track next Thursday, worked with Courvoisier over 800m in 52.7, the last 600 in 37.8. Khan’s Clown recorded a good sixth over 1400m on the Awapuni synthetic track last start.
Bahia Diamond rounded off her preparation for the Rating 65 race over 1650m at Hastings on Thursday with a good solo gallop over 800m in 50, the last 600 in 36.6.
Dictation and Galileo Invader, two horses from the Nelson/McDougal stable also entered for Hastings on Thursday, worked strongly over 1000m in 1:03.7, the last 600 in 36.8 while their stablemates Foxalot and Rhodesian worked over the same distance in 1:04.5, the last 600 37.
A Trapeze Artist two-year-old in the Lowry stable and one by Per Incanto worked together over 800m in 50.9, the last 600 in 37.1 while a Charm Spirit-Diplomacy three-year-old gelding from the same stable clocked 51.1 for a solo 800m, the last 600 in 36.7.
Falcon Falcon worked in from the 800m peg on his own and was timed to run the last 600 in 38.8 while Respond and Whoyagunacall, both in the Thompson/Brown stable, ended their work with 600m in 40.
A Per Incanto-Bedtime Story two-year-old filly and a War Decree two-year-old gelding, both trained by Guy Lowry, worked in easily from the 800m peg in 54.7, increasing the speed slightly over the last 600 in 38.2.
