Shezzacatch, preparing for the second day of the Colliers Hawke’s Bay Spring Carnival, on Saturday week, worked nicely on her own at this morning’s Hastings trackwork session.

Fast work was confined to the plough, which provided soft footing.

Shezzacatch worked in easily from the 600m peg and was allowed to quicken over the last 400m in 27.1. The Savabeel mare has come back from a spell in great order and was impressive when winning a 1000m jumpout at Hastings last week.

Belcamina, another likely starter at Hastings on Saturday week, worked with Herself over 1000m in 1:07, the last 600 in 38.6 and both horses were striding out well at the finish.

Belcamina will contest a Rating 65 race over 2100m at the Hawke’s Bay meeting while Herself is likely to resume at the Woodville meeting the following day.

Duncan Creek, who is entered for the Rating 75 race over 1200m at Woodville this Thursday, showed good speed when running a solo 800m in 51.8, the last 600 in 36.8 while race-rival Free Bee was let off with an easy 800m in 57.2, the last 600 in 41.3.

Red Grade, a member of Vicki Wilson’s stable, went fast when running a solo 1000m in 1:01.2, the last 600 in 36.6 while stablemate Red ‘N’ Surf worked over the same distance in 1:04, the last 600 in 36.8.

Rosalita worked on her own when running an easy 800m in 55.7, the last 600 in 40.5. She was unplaced in the Group 3 Goild Trail Stakes (1200m) on the first day of the Hawke’s Bay Spring Carnival and is likely to be dropped back to maiden grade for her next start.

Supercell and Ravenna Rose, both entered for Woodville on Thursday, worked together over 1000m in 1:12.7, the last 600 in 39.1 while Courvoisier was kept to just three-quarter pace when running extended when running a 1000m in 1:16, the last 600 in 43.5. She is likely to have a jumpout at Waipukiurau on October 3.

Speak Easy and a Per Incanto three-year-old gelding, both in the Guy Lowry stable, worked in from the 700m peg ad were timed to run the lasty 600 in 42.1 while Bellesgirl had co-trainer Mick Brown aboard when running a solo 1000m in 1:12.9, the last 600 in 41.

Two Mongolian Falcon four-year-olds in Vicki Wilson’s stable worked together over 1000m in 1:07.3, the last 600 in 38.2 while Sol De Otono was not hurried when running an easy 800m in 57.5, the last 600 in 42.4. She is a three-year-old filly by The Autumn Sun in the Lowry stable and looked good when winning a 750m jumpout at Hastings last week.
