Hastings Trackwork 21 March
John Jenkins | March 21, 2023

Karehana Bay, preparing for Sunday’s Tauherenikau meeting, hit out well in a quiet session at the Hastings track this morning. There was little in the way of fast work with a number of horses from the centre competing at the Foxton trials later in the day.
Karehana Bay worked on the plough and ran a solo 1000m in 1:04.3, running the first 400m in 26.1 and coming home the last 600 in 38.2. The Telperion four-year-old has disappointed in his last two starts but gets another chance in a maiden 1600m race at Tauherenikau.
Yelserp, another member of the Patrick Campbell stable entered for Tauherenikau on Sunday, ended her work with 600m in 39.3. She is a mare by Echoes Of Heaven who turned in a useful debut performance for sixth at Otaki two weeks ago and will line up in a maiden 1300m race on Sunday.
A Mongolian Falcon three-year-old had trained Dean Howard aboard when running a solo 1000m in 1:05.9, the last 600 in 38.8 while Revina Rose also worked over 1000m in 1:07.7, the last 600 in 38.9.
C’mon Eileen, another member of the Patrick Campbell stable down to start at Tauherenikau on Sunday, worked in from the 1200m peg in 1:22.6, the last 600 in 39.4. She has not had much luck in her last three starts after being placed over 2100m at Woodville in December.
