Promising galloper Mr Bully Tee underwent a good solo hit out at this morning’s Hastings track session as he prepares for the third day of the Colliers Hawke’s Bay Spring Carnival, on Saturday week.

There was not much in the way of fast work as several horses from the centre were to compete at the Waipukurau jumpouts later in the day.

Mr Bully Tee worked on the plough, which provided reasonably good footing, and set off from the 1200m peg. He steadily built-up speed when running the full distance in 1:23.4, the last 600 in 37.3.

The Complacent four-year-old was scratched from last Saturday’s Hawke’s Bay meeting once track conditions deteriorated and is now being aimed at the $65,000 Rating 65 race over 1400m on October 14.

Stablemates Free Bee and Respond took the time honours for the session when they recorded a quick 1:03 for 1000m on the plough, the last 600 in 35.8.

Free Bee needed the run when unplaced over 1200m at Woodville last start in her first start back from a spell and she will now be stepped up to 1400m at Hastings on Saturday week.

Respond went a useful race for sixth on debut at Woodville and could race next at either Taupo next Wednesday or on the Awapuni synthetic track the day after.

Duncan Creek worked early in the session and was kept under a good hold when running 800m, the last 600 in 41.2. He looks to have done well since his last start win at Woodville and is another who will start next at Hastings on Saturday week.

Come On Eileen recorded 51.6 for 800m, the last 600 in 37.1 while Checkpoint Charlie had co-trainer Mick Brown aboard when working over a round, the last 800m in 57.1 and final 600 in 42.

Bahia Emerald was another who was keep under a strong hold when running 1000m in 1:12.3, the last 600m in 41.4.
