John Jenkins | November 30, 2021

Shezzacatch, preparing for Saturday’s Wellington meeting, worked well on her own at this morning’s Hastings track session.

Fast work was confined to the plough, which provided good footing.

The Savabeel mare was a last start fifth in the Group 3 Stewards Stakes (1200m) at Riccarton where she was slow away and then caught wide in the running before finishing the race off well in the final 300m. She will drop back to Rating 74 grade over 1200m at Trentham.

Her stablemate Can I Get An Amen is also likely to contest the same race at Trentham on Saturday and this morning she was let off with an easy 1000m in 1:07.5, the last 600 in 39.5. She is another who was caught wide in the running when sixth in the Levin Stakes (1200m) at Otaki last start.

Rock ‘N’ Pop worked in quietly from the 1000m peg before speeding up over the last 600m. She was timed to run the full distance in 1:09, the last 600 in 36.6 and is likely to start next in the Rating 74 race over 1400m at Hastings on Wednesday of next week.

Secret Falls showed good speed when running a solo 100m in 1:03.3, the last 600 in 35.5 while Matt Kain ended his work with an easy 600m in 40.3.

Aviator was let off with an easy 1000m in 1:14.8, the last 600 in 43.8. The Turn Me Loose three-year-old was a close second on debut over 1200m at the last Hastings meeting and will line up in a maiden 1400m race there next Wednesday.

A Savabeel-Eleonora three-year-old filly was restricted to not much more than three-quarter pace over 1000m in 1:11.5, the last 600 in 42 while One Dream One Soul ran o er the same ground in 1:13.6, the last 600 in 40.8.

Truly and a Telperion three-year-old gelding, both in Patrick Campbell’s stable, worked well together over 1000m in 1:08.9. They ran the first 400m in an easy 32.3 before speeding up over the last 600 in 36.6.

An Adelaide two-year-old gelding and a Keeper three-year-old filly, both trained by Fred Pratt, sprinted 400m together in 23.8 while a Shocking four-year-old mare prepared by Pam Holden ran home her last 400m in 24.7.
