One Dream One Soul, preparing for the $30,000 Rating 75 race over 1600m at Hastings next Monday, was one of three horses worked on the course proper at Hastings this morning to test the track before the day’s rescheduled race meeting.

There were two separate gallops conducted on a fresh strip of ground on the course proper, with two stipendiary stewards and the course manager in attendance.

Matinee and an Ocean Park three-year-old gelding, two horses trained by Kate Hercock, were the first to go and they worked in from the 1000m peg in 1:09.5. They kept close to the inside rail, running the first 400m in an easy 34s before quickening appreciably over the last 600 in 35.5.

Hercock was aboard one of the horses and reported back that she had no concerns about the footing.

She then went out One Dream One Soul and kept the horse about four metres out from the running rail when running 1200m in 1:25.7, the last 600 38.2. Once again she said she experienced no problems with the track.

One Dream One Soul is preparing for the $30,000 Rating 75 race over 1600m at next Monday’s Hastings meeting. The Ekraar mare has not raced for a month but has been kept right up to the mark in training and had a gallop at last Friday’s Waipukurau jumpouts.

Written Up had trainer Dean Howard aboard when working over 800m on the plough in 51.6, running the first 200m in an easy 14.1 before quickening over the last 600 in 37.5.

A Dial A Prayer three-year-old gelding and one by Belardo, both in the Pratt/Johnson stable, worked together over 1000m in 1:10.1, the last 600 in 38.3 while She’s Miss Gevious was not hurried when running 600m in 41.
