Hastings Trackwork - Tuesday 14 December
John Jenkins | December 14, 2021

Stablemates Wewillrock and Candle turned in a strong gallop together at this morning’s Hastings track session.

Fast work was confined to the plough, where the ground was quite testing after more overnight rain.

Wewillrock and Candle worked over 1000m together in 1:03.8, coming home the last 600 in 36.9 and final 600 in 23.4. It was an excellent time in the conditions and both horses pulled up well afterwards.

Wewillrock heads to Te Rapa this Saturday for a $30,000 Rating 65 race over 1200m while impressive last start winner Candle may contest the $30,000 three-year-old set weights and penalties race over 1400m at Awapuni on Saturday, providing track conditions there improve.

Secret Falls worked on her own over 1000m in 1:06.8, the last 600 in 37.9. She finished a close second on debut over 1200m at Hastings last week and is likely to start next in another maiden 1200m race at Hastings on December 31.

The Stoney One, another impressive last start winner, worked with stablemate Love Letter over 1000m at just a bit faster than three-quarter pace, clocking 1:12.5 for the full distance and the last 600 in 41.2.

The Stoney One could contest the three-year-old set weights and penalties race over 1400m at Awapuni on Saturday and won’t mind a rain affected track.

No Time To Jazz ran the last 400m of her work in 24.8 while Can I Get An Amen ran a solo 1000m but was not timed.

Magic Incanto was restricted to just pacework in the centre and may now head to Awapuni this Saturday for the Group 2 $110,000 Manawatu Challenge Stakes (1400m).
