Hastings Trackwork - Tuesday 5 April
John Jenkins | April 05, 2022

No Time To Jazz showed she has trained on the right way since her last start win by running a good solo gallop at this morning’s Hastings track session.

The majority of fast work was confined to the plough, with just one gallop timed on the No.1 grass. Both tracks provided soft footing.

No Time To Jazz worked in from the 1200m peg and quickened from the 1000m peg, clocking 1:01.1, the last 600 in 36s.

The Swiss Ace mare has won her last two starts, the most recent over 1400m at Hastings on March 2, and she will start next in another Rating 74 race over 1400m at the Hawke’s Bay meeting on April 16.

One Dream One Soul, who will contest the three-year-old 1600m race at Awapuni on Friday, was another who turned in a good solo gallop over 1000m on the plough, clocking 1:05.7 for the full distance and 36s for the last 600. She had no luck in he Levin Classic (1600m) at Trentham last start.

Mohaka, who will start next in the Hawke’s Bay Cup (2200m) on April 16, was let off with an easy 600m on the plough in 42.5 while Podium, who contests a maiden 1200m race at Wanganui this Thursday, was also let off with 600m at three-quarter pace.

Magic Incanto had trainer Fred Pratt aboard when given two 600m runs on the No.1 grass, the first one in an easy 45.4 and the second in 39.3. Pratt is considering stepping the mare up in distance in the Hawke’s Bay Cup on April 16.Secret Falls, another likely starter at Wanganui this Thursday, worked in easily from the 600m peg on the plough and quickened over the last 400m in 20.5 while Karehana Bay ran a solo 800m on the plough in 54.6, the last 600 in 39.8.

Call Me Jack recorded 1:09.3 for 1000m on the plough, the last 600 in 38.7 while Joule ran over the same ground in 1:04, the last 600 in 37.

An Unusual Suspect three-year-old filly worked with an Iffraaj four-year-old mare over 1000m in 1:10, the last 600 in 39.2 with both horses travelling easily at the finish.
