Hastings Trackwork - Tuesday 5 July
John Jenkins | July 05, 2022

A quick 800-metre gallop by No Time To Jazz was one of the highlights at this morning’s Hastings track session.

Fast work was carried out on the plough and about half-way out on the No.1 grass, both racks providing heavy footing.

No Time To Jazz worked in from the 800m peg at speed, cutting out the last 600m in 35.7. The Swiss Ace mare has been given a brief freshen up and is expected to resume in a Rating 75 race over 1400m at Woodville on August 12.

Master Brewer, a likely starter in a maiden 1400m race at Woodville on Thursday of next week, was not hurried when running 1200m on the plough in 1:28.3, the last 600 in 41.5. He was a good last start third over 1200m at Otaki.

Manhattan Jazz ran a solo 1000m on the plough in 1:10.1, the last 600 in 38.7. He is likely to start in Saturday’s 1100m two-year-old race at Hastings.

Moll Of Pentire and a Redwood three-year-old, both in Vicki Wilson’s stable, sprinted 600m on the grass in 35.5 while their stablemate Kaluanui also sprinted quickly over 600m on the grass in 36.5.

Herself looked to be worming well at the end of an easy 1000m on the plough in 1:08.9, the last 600 in 40.5 while New Orleans Jazz ran 600m on the same track in 38.6.

A Mongolian Khan three-year-old in Vicki Wilson’s stable sprinted 600m on the grass in 36.7 while Heartstopper was not hurried when running 600m on the same track in 41.3.

A Time Test-Braandnickers two-year-old filly and a Charm Spirit-Diplomacy two-year-old gelding worked together over 800m in 53.8, the last 600 in 38.5. They are both in the Lowry/Cullen stable.

A Proisir two-year-old and one by Mongolian Falcon, both trained by Lee Somervell, worked easily over 600m in 40.4 while a Road To Rock three-year-old in the Lowry/Cullen stable ended his work with 600m in 42.5.

A Per Incanto-Mint three-year-old worked over 600m in 40.7 while Aviator was kept to just three-quarter pace over 1000m, the last 600 in 43.6.
