Wewillrock, who is expected to resume racing after a lengthy spell at Taupo on Friday, hit out strongly in company at today’s Hastings trackwork session.
Fast work was mainly confined to the plough, which provided good footing.
Trainer John Bary brought the three-year-old fillies Best Seller and Sequoia Star into the track for a special gallop on the course proper and they worked over 1000m in 1:02.1, the last 600 in 36.6. They are both likely starters in Saturday’s Group 3 Desert Gold Stakes (1600m) at Trentham.
Wewillrock worked with stablemate The Stoney One over 1000m on the plough in 1:02.9, running the first 400m in 26.9 before quickening over the last 600 in in 36s. Both horses looked to be working well at the finish, especially Wewillrock.
The El Roca gelding will resume in a Rating 75 race over 1100m at Taupo while The Stoney One is entered for the Rating 75 race over 1200m at Trentham on Saturday.

Sneeze was a close last start second over 1600m at Wanganui while Foxalot is coming off a last start fourth over 1050m at Tauherenikau.
One Dream One Soul worked well on her own again when running 800m in 51.4, the last 600 in 36.5. She will have a jumpout over 1000m at Hastings this Friday in preparation for a Rating 75 race over 1400m at Hastings on February 10, a meeting that is being transferred from the Awapuni racecourse.
No Bid worked over 1000m on his own in 1:07.7, the last 600 in 38.1 while Secret Falls and a Mongolian Khan three-year-old filly ran over the same ground in 1:11.3, the last 600 in 39.
