Testwin, Zorero and Fortunato, three promising gallopers in the Lowry/Zydenbos stable, were impressive winners at today’s Hastings jumpouts.
There were 13 heats held up against the inside rail on the course proper, which provided soft footing.
Testwin contested an Open 1000m heat and was kept under a good hold by rider Kelly Myers, scoring by a long neck in a time of 1:02.13.
The Time Test six-year-old has not raced since May but has been ticking over nicely in training and is being aimed at the Hawke’s Bay Spring carnival.
Zorero also contested an Open 1000m heat and was a decisive 1-¼ length winner in a time of 1:02.89. He is a four-year-old by Per Incanto who recorded a win and a second from three starts last season and is another likely to feature over the three-day Hawke’s Bay Spring Carnival.
Fortunato contested a maiden 1000m heat and looked to have plenty in reserve when crossing the line half a length clear of his rivals in a time of 60.88s.
The Per Incanto three-year-old is the winner of two Foxton trials, the most recent over 850m, and is likely to make his race debut at Taupo on Wednesday of next week.
