Impressive wins by Testwin, The Stoney One and Rockburn were among the highlights at today’s Hastings jumpouts.

There were 12 heats run wide out on the course proper, where the ground was rated a heavy10.

Testwin looked to be cruising when taking out one of the 1000m heats by 2-3/4 lengths and clocked 1:08.25.

The Test Time gelding also won an 800m jumpout at Hastings on July 24 and is coming up extra well in preparation for the Hawke’s Bay spring carnival. He is likely to resume in a $65,000 Rating 65 race over 1300m on the first day, September 7.

The Stoney One led all the way in his 1000m heat and kept up a strong run to the line to win by three lengths in a time of 1:07.56.

The Stoney One has undergone a wind operation since he last raced and it seems to have been a success. He is likely to resume in the $65,000 Rating 65 race over 1200m on the first day of the spring carnival.

Rockburn recorded the fastest time of the 1000m heats (1:06.95) when he did best in a close four-horse finish, finishing strongly down the outside to score by a long neck from Blissful Belle, with Wewillrock and Candle just in behind the first two.

Wewillrock’s performance was a little lack-lustre but that was to be expected as he didn’t have blinkers on.

He will now go straight into the Group 2 $150,000 Foxbridge Plate (1200m) at Te Rapa on August 24, where blinkers will be added to his gear.

Other good winners of the jumpouts were the John Bary-trained Wickham along with Speed Dial and a Rubrick-Miss Verne three-year-old filly from the Lowry/Zydenbos stable.
