TRACKWORK | 1 APR 2025
John Jenkins | April 01, 2025

Solid solo gallops by the stablemates Duncan Creek and La Dulcin’ee were the highlights at this morning’s Hastings trackwork session.

Fast work was confined to the plough, which provided good footing.

Duncan Creek worked in from the 120m peg in 1:14.9, running the first 600m in 38.1 before sprinting home the last 600 in 36.8. He heads to Wanganui this Saturday where he will contest the Rating 75 race over 2040m.

La Dulcin’ee worked in from the 1000m peg in 1:05.1 and finished the workout off strongly when running the last 600 in 36. The Per Incanto mare was run down late over 1200m at Trentham last start and will tackle a Rating 65 race over the same distance at Wanganui on Saturday.

Nozumi had co-trainer Mick Brown aboard when working easily over 1000m in 1:11.5, the last 600 in 39.8. He looks close to a win and will contest the maiden highweight over 1600m at Waverley this Friday with Troy Harris booked to ride him.

His stablemate Free Bee will also head to Waverley, where she will contest a Rating 65 race over 1400m. This morning she was kept under a strong hold over 1000m in 1:15.1, the last 600 in 41.8. She has been freshened since finishing a good second over 1400m at Taupo at the end of February.

Fancy Like Lass was another who worked on her own and clocked 52.1 for 800m. She looks in great order and will start next in the open 120m sprint at Trentham on April 12.
