Exit Left turned in a good solo gallop at this morning’s Hastings trackwork session and should prove hard to beat when next produced on race day.
Fast work was confined to the plough, which provided soft footing.

The Turn Me Loose four-year-old resumed from a lengthy spell with a good second over 1340m at Wanganui at the end of last month and looks to have improved from that run. Co-trainer Mick Brown said the horse will be entered for another Raing 65 race over 1340m at Wanganui this Saturday but track conditions will determine whether or not he starts.
“He’ll probably run there if the track is not too wet or else there is a Rating 65 race over 1600m at Otaki next week,” Brown said.
Anaroa, another who will be entered for the Rating 65 race over 1340 at Wanganui this Saturday, was another who turned in a good solo gallop when running 1000m in 1:05.3, the last 600 in 36.9. He spoilt his chances by wanting to over-race in the early and middle stages when seventh over 1340m at Wanganui last start.
Waft, another who could start at Wanganui on Saturday, worked with Sunshine Al over 1000m at three-quarter pace, coming home the last 600 in 45.8. Waft was a fast finishing second over 1340m at Wanganui last start.
Snowflake was not hurried when working in at three-quarter pace from the 1000m peg, quickening slightly over the last 600 in 41.1 He could race next in a maiden 1600m race at Otaki next week.
Celebrity and a So You Think two-year-old colt, both in the Thompson/Brown stable, ran an easy 1000m together, the last 600 in 43.9 while Kayzino underwent similar work over 1200m, quickening slightly over the last 600 in 41.2.
Katsu and a Time Test-Shamardal Luck two-year-old worked in at three-quarter pace from the 800m peg in 59.1, the last 600 in 42.1. They are both in the Lowry/Zydenbos stable.
