Gohugo was one of only a few horses to gallop in a quiet Hastings trackwork session today.
Fast work was again confined to the plough, which provided soft footing.
Gohugo had co-trainer Leah Zydenbos aboard when running a solo 800m in 51.1, the last 600 in 38.2. The Per Incanto gelding was a good last start fourth over 1200m at Woodville and is likely to contest the Open 1200m race at Otaki this Saturday.
Creation, another likely runner at Otaki, had co-trainer Mick Brown aboard when working over an easy 1000m in 1:11.7, the last 600 in 41.2. He was an impressive last start maiden winner over 1600m at Tauherenikau and will tackle a Rating 65 race over the same distance this Saturday.
Abeecee had trainer Caitlin Johnson aboard when working over 1000m in 1:11.3, the last 600 in 38.9 while Vincero ran over the same distance in 1:11.3, coming home the last 600 in 41.9.
Trust Alone was not pressured when working over 1000m in 1:12.1, the last 60 in 42.4 while her stablemate Popsicles ran over the same ground in 1:11.1, the last 600 in 42.3. They are members of Aaron Bidlake’s stable waiting for the onset of wet tracks.
