Meridivarci, preparing for Friday’s Woodville meeting, turned in a good solo gallop at this morning’s Hastings trackwork session.

Fast work was confined to the plough, which provided soft footing.

Meridivarci had co-trainer Leah Zydenbos aboard when running 800m in 51.1, the last 600 in 36.7. The Tivaci three-year-old is coming off a 1-1/2 length win in a 1200m Waverley trial earlier this month and shows plenty of potential. He is entered for the 1400m maiden race at Woodville.

Hastings trainer Aaron Bidlake nominated four horses for Friday’s Woodville meeting and all four worked this morning.

Sicarius and Vincero were two of them and they worked together over 1000m in 1:10.5, the last 600 in 39.3. Sicarius is entered for a maiden 1200m race while Bidlake is hoping Vincero can make the field for the maiden 2100m event.

Justadude ran a solo 1000m in 1:09.9, the last 600 in 39.5 and is entered for a maiden 1400m race at Woodville. He will appreciate the heavy track conditions.

Popsicles was kept under a hold when running a solo 1000m in 1:10.9, the last 600 in 40.5 and she will line up in the Rating 60 1600m race at Woodville.

Prestissimo had co-trainer Jordan Bassett aboard when running 800m, the last 600 in 39 while a Mongolian Falcon two-year-old gelding trained by Dean Howard was timed to run 600m in 39.1.

Tulsa King worked over 800m at three-quarter pace, the last 600 in 45.2 while the jumper Touch Of Paradise worked over three rounds and came home his last 600 in 42.2. He is likely to start next in the maiden steeplechase at Trentham on Saturday week.
