Good solo gallops by Fancy Like Lass and Sol De Otono and a nice hit out by Poukawa were among the highlights at today’s Hastings trackwork session.

Fast work was restricted to the plough, which provided soft footing.

Fancy Like Lass worked in from the 1000m peg in 1:06.4, running home the last 800 in 51.1 and quickening appreciably over the final 600 in 36.9.

The Hellbent mare has been freshened since racing at Trentham two months ago and could resume in the Open 1200m race at Otaki this Saturday.

Sol De Otono was also sent over 1000m on her own and cocked 1:06.9, running the first 400m in 28.5 before quickening slightly over the last 600 in 38.4. She was stretching out well at the finish and will head to Taupo on Sunday for a Rating 65 race over 1800m.

Poukawa looked to be travelling better than Flying Agenda at the end of their 1000m workout in 1:05.7, the last 600 in 38.5.

Poukawa will contest a Rating 65 race over 1600m at Otaki on Saturday while Flying Agenda is entered for a maiden 2040m event at Wanganui on Sunday.

Say I Do, another likely starter at Otaki on Saturday, was also striding out well at the end of a solo 1000m in 1:09.7, the last 600 in 38.8. She will contest a Rating 65 race over 1600m.

Bedtime Story worked early in the session, in bad light, and was timed to run her last 600m in 38.7. She has been freshened since racing at Trentham at the beginning of last month.

Exit Left had co-trainer Mick Brown aboard when running 1000m in 1:08.6, the last 600 in 39.8 while Uncle Ken worked in at three-quarter pace from the 1200m peg, quickening over the lasty 600 in 39.2.

Creation clocked 53.7 for 800m, the last 600 in 39.1 while Suave worked over the same ground in 57.6, the last 600 in 38.7.

Double Shot ended her work with 600m in 39.1 while Anaroa was kept to just three-quarter pace over 600m in 44.4.

Spark was kept under a hold over 800m in 57.6, the last 600 in 41.4 while Bar Room and Adera worked together over 600m in 42.1.

Vincero and a Derryn three-year-old filly, both in Aaron Bidlake’s stable, ended their work with an easy 600m in 42.4 while a Tivaci two-year-old filly trained by Mick Brown and Sue Thompson worked in at three-quarter pace from the 800m peg, running home the last 600 in 42.6.
