Vaporize, preparing for Friday’s Otaki meeting, strode out well in a solo 1000m gallop at this morning’s Hastings trackwork session.
There was little in the way of fast work with several horses from the centre headed to the Levin jumpouts later in the day.
Vaporize worked in from the 1000m peg in 1:07.4, running the first 400m in 29.3 and then striding out keenly over the last 600 in 38.1.
The Vadamos filly was allowed to go too hard in the lead over 1200m on the Awapuni synthetic track last start and it was not surprising that she weakened in the final stages. She is entered for a maiden 1200m race at Otaki.
Flying Angel, who will contest a maiden 1700m race on the Awapuni synthetic track on Sunday, worked on her own over 1200m in 1:16.1, running the first 600m in 38.5 before coming home the final 600 in 37.6. The Proisir filly was a good last start third on the Awapuni synthetic track.
Briar, another entered for Otaki on Friday, had trainer Tayla Hall aboard when working over 1000m in 1:07.1, the last 600 in 38.6. She went a better race for sixth over 2040m at Wanganui last start and will contest a maiden 2100m race at Otaki.
Say I Do, who will line up in a Rating 65 race over 1000m at Awapuni on Sunday, was schooled over the pony jumps in the bullring.
Two three-year-olds by Rock ‘N’ Pop and a two-year-old by Time Test, all members of the Lowry/Zydenbos stable, worked together over 800m and were timed to run home the last 600 in 40.3.
