Gohugo worked well on his own during a quiet trackwork session at Hastings today.
Fast work was confined to the plough, which provided good footing.
Gohugo worked in at three-quarter pace from the 800m peg and quickened over the last 600 in 38.5.
The Per Incanto six-year-old has not raced since finishing a good third over 1400m at Otaki on October 19 and is likely to head back to the same venue on Thursday of next week for another Rating 65 race over 1400m.
Last start winner Prestissimo was kept to just three-quarter pace over 1000m in 1:15.2, the last 600 in 44.3. She could now head to Wanganui on Saturday week for the Listed $80,000 O’Learys Fillies Stakes (1340m).
All other horses were kept to just pacework including the Lowry/Zydenbos trio of Poukawa, Testwin and The Stoney One, all of whom galloped on Monday. Several others were to compete at today’s Foxton trials.
