Curtsy took the time honours in another quiet trackwork session at Hastings today, running a solid 1000m on her own.
Fast work was carried out on the No.1 grass, which provided firm footing.
Curtsy had co-trainer Leah Zydenbos aboard when working over a round and was timed from the 1200m peg in 1:16. She clocked 38.8s for the first 600 before quickening slightly over the last 600 in 37.2.
The Ocean Park mare ruined her chances by wanting to over-race when unplaced over 1600m at Otaki two weeks ago in what was her first start for almost two months. She will now head to the Waverley meeting on Wednesday next week where she will contest another 1600m maiden.
Sunshine Ale, another headed to the Waverley meeting, ran a solo 1000m in 1:07.8, the last 600 in 38.4. She has fully recovered from a minor leg injury and will be entered for the Rating 75 race over 1400m at Waverley.
Exit Left worked in at three-quarter pace from the 1000m peg and quickened slightly over the last 800m in 52.9 and final 600 in 39.3. He is in the early stages of another preparation and looks in good order.
Buzzy Bee was also restricted to not much more than three-quarter pace when running 1000m in 1:16, the last 600 in 41.7. He is a big three-year-old by Turn Me Loose in the Thompson/Brown stable and finished third in a 1400m Foxton trial last week. He could make his race debut at Tauherenikau on February 6.
