Testwin, preparing for this Sunday’s Wellington meeting, turned in a strong solo gallop at this morning’s Hastings trackwork session.
There was not much in the way of fast work as there are jumpouts scheduled to be run on the course proper tomorrow (Wednesday).
Testwin worked over 1000m on the plough in 1:04 and was stretching out strongly over the last 600 in 36.8.
The Time Test gelding will contest the Rating 65 race over 1600m at Trentham with Matthew Cartwright booked to ride him. Any easing in track conditions will enhance his chances.
Written Up, another who could go to Trentham on Sunday, was not hurried when running a solo 1000m in 1:10, the last 600 in 39.2 while Candle was kept to just three-quarter pace over 800m in 58.8. She could race next at Trentham on Saturday week.
Poukawa was another kept to just three-quarter pace, running home his last 600 in 46s. He is likely to start next in a Rating 65 race over 1400m at Trentham on November 2.
Bedtime Story was not hurried when running 800m on her own in 56.5, the last 600 in 41.5 while Titan worked in at three-quarter pace from the 800m peg and quickened slightly over the last 600 in 40.
Fancy Like Lass, back in work with Mick Brown and Sue Thompson after a long injury layoff, underwent three-quarter pace and clocked 44.5 for the last 600m.
A Proisir four-year-old mare in the Brown/Thompson stable clocked 59.4 for an easy 800m, the last 600 in 41.8 while a Darci Brahma two-year-old trained by Richard McKenzie and Jordan Bassett ran 600m in 42.2.
