A good 800-metre gallop Half Share and an Exceedance three-year-old was the only highlight in a quiet trackwork session at Hastings today.
There were very few horses in attendance, with the Lowry/Zydenbos stable having taken a team of 11 away to the Levin jumpouts.
Half Share and the Exceedance three-year-old worked together over 800m on the plough in 51.6, coming home strongly over the last 600 in 37.3. They are both in the stable of Mick Brown and Sue Thompson.
Creation had co-trainer Mick Brown aboard when running an easy 800m in 56, the last 600 in 39.5. The Dundeel five-year-old hasn’t raced since May but looks to be coming well in a new preparation.
Zero Tolerance had trainer Tayla Hall aboard when working over 800m at three-quarter pace, quickening slightly over the last 600 in 43.5. She is a three-year-old filly by Derryn who won a 400m jumpout at Hastings two weeks ago.
Buzzy Bee looked to be striding out well when running 800m on the plough in 54.5, the last 600 in 39.7 while stablemate Mount Cook worked over 800m on the No.1 grass at three-quarter pace.
A Derryn three-year-old gelding trained by Tayla Hall and Say I Do were two others restricted to just three-quarter pace.
