Speed Dial was the only horse to work at speed in what was a very quiet trackwork session at Hastings this morning.

With races tomorrow (Wednesday) and jumpouts planned for Thursday most horses were restricted to just pacework.

Speed Dial worked in from the 1000m peg in 1:10, running the first 400m in 31.4 before quickening over the last 600 in 38.6. She is a Time Test three-year-old filly out of the Towkay mare Queen Alley and is set to make her race debut in a maiden 1300m race at Tauherenikau on Sunday.

Her stablemate Sol De Otono is another headed to Tauherenikau where she will contest the maiden 2050m race. The daughter of The Autumn Sun was one of several horses from the Lowry/Zydenbos stable restricted to pacework this morning and was to have her final bit of fast work tomorrow (Wednesday). She has had two starts for two fifths and will be stepping up to a middle distance for the first time.
