Bedtime Story, preparing for this Saturday’s Group 3 $100,000 Rotorua ITM Stakes, strode out freely in a good solo gallop at this morning’s Hastings trackwork session.

Fast work was confined to the plough, which provided good footing.

Bedtime Story had co-trainer Leah Zydenbos aboard when working in from the 800m peg, sprinting home keenly over the last 600 in 36.2.

The Per Incanto mare was a good last start third in the Anzac Metric Mile (1600m) at Wanganui and should appreciate the drop back to 1400m on Saturday. Apprentice Triston Moodey has the mount.

Candle was another who stretched out well over the final stages of her 800m workout, recording 36.4 for the last 600. She is likely to start next on the synthetic track at Cambridge later this month.

La Dulcin’ee, who could start at Wanganui on Sunday, was another to work over 800m, running home the last 600m keenly in 36.5. She has recorded two seconds and a third from three starts on the Wanganui track.

No Trumps and Snowflake, two horses from the Lowry/Zydenbos stable who are likely starters at Wanganui, worked together over 800m in 52.4, the last 600 in 38.3.

Meltemi, who is entered for the maiden 1000m race at Trentham on Saturday, was not hurried when running 800m in 52.2, the last 600 in 38.1. She was slow away and then covered plenty of extra ground over 1100m at Woodville last start.

Swifty, a promising Shalaa two-year-old filly in Aaron Bidlake’s stable, was hitting out well at the end of a 600m gallop, the last 400 in 25.5 while Flying Angel and Briar clocked 52 for 800m, the last 600 in 37.3.

Justadude, another trained by Aaron Bidlake, ran  a solo 800m in 52.4, the last 600 in 37.3 while Basil The Greek ran over the same distance in 53.3, the last 600 in 38.2.

Alittleauspicious, trained by Caitlin Johnson, clocked 38.7 for a solo 600m while a Belardo-Midnight Molly gelding in the Lowry/Zydenbos stable was kept to just three-quarter pace over 1000m in 1:13.3, the last 600 in 43.

Kayzino, a Tarzino three-year-old filly in the Lowry/Zydenbos stable, was not hurried when running 600m in 42.7.
