A dense blanket of fog covered the Hastings track for most of this morning’s trackwork session, preventing the timing of most fast work.

Shez Oohlahah, preparing for Friday’s Woodville meeting, was one horse timed when she worked with a Tarzino three-year-old gelding over 1000m in 1:04.4, the last 600 in 36.9.

The Telperion mare has not raced since December and will resume in a maiden 1400m race at Woodville.

Her stablemate Bahia Emerald, who will be entered for the Rating 65 race over 2100m at Woodville, was restricted to just half-pace this morning. She went a much improved race for third over 2050m at Tauherenikau last start.

Written Up and a Mongolian Khan four-year-old mare worked together over 600m in 40.3 while Bedtime Story looked to be striding out well at the end of her 800m workout but could not be timed in the fog.

Bedtime Story looks to have freshened up well since her last start fourth in the Wellington Guineas (1400m) and will line up next in the Group 3 $100,000 Cambridge Breeders’ Stakes (1200m) at Te Rapa on April 27.

Freebee had co-trainer Mick Brown aboard when running a solo 1000m in 1:09.7, the last 600 in 38.7 and is likely to start next in a Rating 65 race over 1200m at Wanganui on Thursday of next week.

A Per Incanto-Vienna Lady two-year-old filly and a Time Test-Miss Hoi Polloi two-year-old gelding, both in the Lowry/Zydenbos stable, were kept to just three-quarter pace over 800m in 58.2, the last 600 in 42.2 while a Belardo two-year-old gelding and an Ocean Park two-year-old filly worked easily over the same ground in 58.6, the last 600 in 42.7.

Wewillrock was restricted to just half-pace this morning after undergoing a searching gallop last Saturday. He looks to have freshened up well and will tackle the Listed City Of Napier Sprint (1200m) at Otaki this Saturday.

Eyegeegee looks to coming up well in a fresh campaign and was another restricted to just pacework this morning. He won impressively on debut last year and will have a jumpout at Waipukurau on Wednesday of next week before making a return to the racetrack.
