Capable mare La Dulcin’ee turned in a good solo workout in what was a quiet trackwork session at Hastings today.

Fast work was confined to the plough, which provided good footing.

La Dulcin’ee worked in from the 800m peg in 53.5, running the first 200m in 14.4 before coming home the last 600 in 39.1.

The Per Incanto mare hasn’t raced since winning over 1340m at Wanganui in May but looks to be coming up well in a fresh campaign.

Tulsa King and Say I Do worked together over 800m in 53.9, the last 600 in 38.7.

Tulsa King is a three-year-old by Staphanos trained by Aaron Bidlake. He will be entered for the maiden 990m race at this Saturday’s New Plymouth extreme meeting.

Bedtime Story worked early in the session and was let off with an easy 600m in 45.6. She will head to the Foxton trials next Tuesday to help prepare her for a fresh up run in the Group 3 Grangewilliam Stud Breeders Stakes (1400m) at Hawera on October 4.

The Guy Lowry and Leah Zydnbos trained Spark also worked early and was let off with just a couple of rounds of pacework. She was booked to travel by road to Christchurch later in the day where she will make her race debut in the Listed $80,000 New Zealand Bloodstock Canterbury Belle Stakes (1200m) at Riccarton on Saturday. Matt Cameron has been booked to ride the promising Time Test filly.

Meltemi was not hurried when running a solo 800m in 56.3, the last 600 in 41.6 while Little Auspicious had trainer Caitlin Johnson aboard when working over 600m in 40.8.

Written Up was also given an easy 800m workout, clocking 57.2 and 41.2 for the last 600 while Wild Thyme, in the early stages of a new campaign, ran an easy 600m in 44.7.
